Two Fer the Price of One

1) What phrase is being suggested below?

And just to mix things up --
2) The words white and black are antonyms.
What two words, one rhyming with white and the other with black, are also antonyms?

  1. it's something about strength, but i can't figure it out exactly. i'm just happy enough that i realized it spells s-t-r-e-n-g-t-h going down the first column and up the second. :P

  2. hey Mike, why no answers?

  3. Because I completely forgot! Sorry.

The first is 'tower of strength,' although I'm not sure that's completely obvious from the clue itself. I guess you could say it's a tower.

The second is just as cri points out: tight and slack. How cri figured it out??? I know I had to look up the answer.
