A Parrot Lies

A petshop owner had a parrot with a sign on its cage that said "Parrot repeats everything it hears". Davey bought the parrot and for two weeks he spoke to it and it didn't say a word. He returned the parrot but the shopkeeper said he never lied about the parrot. How can this be?

    Either the parrot is deaf or the boy who purchased the parrot "spoke" to it in sign language :)

    "parrot repeats EVERYTHING it hears"...so if Davey wud say "EVERYTHING" parrot wud repeat "everything"...see shopkeeper wasnt lying...

    Maybe the parrot hasn't hear anything for the last two weeks, so the parrot doesn't speak for two weeks... (is my english is correct?? Sorry if it's wrong)

    I love some of these answers. The 'official answer' is the parrot is deaf, so it can't hear anything.

    But that doesn't mean it's the only answer.
