Cook the Inside
You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?
Corn (on the cob) is what I was thinking of too. I've seen some answers before on this question mention vegetables where you discard the seeds after cooking. I'm just more familiar with corn.
