100 coins

A man has 100 coins (there are no quarters or nickels) that add up to $5.00. How many coins did he have of each denomination?

  1. 60 pennies
    39 dimes
    1 half-dollar

  2. I'm surprised no one got the other possibility. As mr don pointed out, 60 pennies, 39 dimes and 1 half dollar works. But so does 70 pennies, 28 dimes, one half dollar and one dollar coin.
