Read carefully, plot twist ahead

In the back yard there is a hollow stump that contains six ears of corn. If a healthy squirrel carries out only three ears each day, how many days will it take to empty the stump?

  1. the rabbit is 'healthy', so it has 2 ears attached to its head, so it will carry only one ear of corn each day if it carries three total 'ears', so it will take 6 days

  2. I think Abe's right, but I find it funny that in his answer, the squirrel transformed into a rabbit. Silly squirrel! Corn is for rabbits!

  3. Every time I think I have a tough question, you all come out with the right answer almost immediately.

The answer is six. Each day the squirrel (not a rabbit ;-)) will carry out the two ears on his head plus one ear of corn.
