Being Cheap Pays Off

If you go to the movies and you're paying, is it cheaper to take one friend to the movies twice, or two friends to the movies at the same time?

  1. Two friends at the same time. 1 friend twice plus you twice is paying for 4 instead of you and 2 friends.

  2. Take both of them at the same time - then you only have to buy one ticket for yourself!
....unless it's a really good film and you absolutely want to see it twice :)

  3. It depends on how Machiavellian you are. You could go to see two different movies, so that the price of your ticket is effectively negated. If you take your friends individually, though, you're more likely to convince them to buy you popcorn, because they'd only have to buy for one other person. You could be given two boxes of popcorn for the price of two movie tickets, rather than none.

I think Fleets and Heatherbells have the right answer, though.

  4. Two at the same time.
This way you only have to buy yourself one ticket and it saves gas!
But like Charli said, taking one friend might get you food!

  5. Hooray! I finally got one but I have to admit, this question should've come with an Easy Button. Answer: Two friends at the same time; that way you only pay for yourself once. Watch me be all wrong.

  6. Alright, I guess there wasn't anything tricky about this one. Taking your two guests at the same time will save you money since you only have to buy three tickets.

For some reason, the Machiavellian answer appeals to me....

  7. there are lots of benefits for having both come to the movie at once:
first you only have to see the movie one time, secondly, it is cheaper to pay for yourself once, thirdly you only have to buy popcorn once, fourth you save on gas, fifthly there are more people to make conversation, sixthly hmmm I don't know so I will stick with five beneifts.
