Time is a Fleeting Thing

1) I'm looking at my watch. From this moment on, the hour hand will take exactly twice as long as the minute hand to reach the number six. What time is it?

2) Again, I'm looking at my watch. From this moment on, the hour hand will take exactly three times longer than the minute hand to reach the number six. What time is it?

  1. 5:00 and 5:15 work for 1 and 2, respectively. But 3:45 also works for the second one as well. It takes 45 minutes to reach the six for the minute hand and 135 minutes (2 hours and 15 minutes) for the hour hand.
