What is a sport?

Two men were playing tennis. They played five sets and each man won three sets.

How can this be possible?

  1. It was doubles tennis, and the two men were on the same team. Meaning that they won 3/5, and their opponents lost the 5 set match...

  2. or, they were playing singles, but not against each other

  3. They were not playing against each other?

  4. OR It's Impossible!

or, it says "The two men were playing tennis." It never says against each other. But, I like the first answer the best.

  5. The two men were partners playing doubles. Given the way the question was worded, andy, karnov, and anonsage's answer works. It just wasn't what I intended.
