The night the lights went out

Sean and Heather where sitting in their family room one night. While Sean was watching T.V his wife Heather was reading. All of a sudden the power went out and Sean decided to go to bed, but Heather kept on reading. With no use of artificial light, Heather kept on reading. How?

  3. Andrew, they were watching tv at night.

anonymous, I should have put something in saying the windows were curtained or something. But you're right. It could have been as simple as the moon was particularly bright that night and she could read by it.

What I was looking for: Heather was blind... she was reading a book by Braille.

  4. I've got another answer...if they were in the far north, such as Norway, in the summer, then there could be enough daylight to read by except for in the 2 or 3 hours centered around midnight.
