Stronger than a Stone

Still, I am like a mirror,
Fast, I am stronger than stone.
Wet, I can burn you,
Dry, I can keep you warm.
Life, I can be in the desert,
Death, I can be on the riverbank.
What am I?

  3. Water is the answer. This riddle came from an instructional on how to create riddles, but now I can't find the link.

I had a hard time figuring out the dry - warm part, but then I realized it was snow.
