Asked and Answered

Can you solve the pattern asked by anonymous? (Asked at Find the Pattern in the Numbers)

  1. I think the answer is 6. The difference of the difference of the differences is constant at 3.

  2. i agree with Dave UK
    first diff: 8
    second diff: 9
    third diff: 7
    fourth diff: 2
    fifth diff: -6

    diff between 1st and 2nd differences: 1
    diff between 2nd and 3rd differences: -2
    diff between 3rd and 4th differences: -5
    diff between 4th and 5th differences: -8
diff between 5th and 6th differences should be -11, because it keeps decreasing by 3.so if the difference between -6 and the next number is -11, than you add -11 to -6 = -17.
this is the difference between 23 and the next number so 23 plus -17= 6.

    ah yea, im that smart.
