Wither, Wane and Grow Dry
Close to the words of life stay I,
But I wither, wane, and grow dry.
Okay, so this *cannot* be the intended solution, but the inclusion of the symbol Ankh ("life") in tomb paintings makes "a mummy" seem like a potential solution here.
You're right, that was not the intention at all but, as usual, you astound me with your creativity. I love it!
The intention was a pressed flower, and if you believe in it, a pressed flower (or leaf I suppose) within a bible or other holy book. I'm not familiar enough with Egyptology to know if they have a holy book of some sort.
Hah! Mike, you're not going to believe this, but I had the following typed up earlier today as a second comment, before I thought "better" of it. I thought I was joking!:
