Aeschylus is often recognized as the father or the founder of tragedy, and is the earliest of the three Greek tragedians whose plays survive, the others being Sophocles and Euripides.
Speaking of a tragedy (or perhaps it was more of a comedy), how was Aeschylus killed?
I looked this up. Thank God for Wikipedia. Apparently a vulture dropped a rock on his head thinking his bald head was an egg needing to be cracked... It gives new meaning to the term "Egghead"
ReplyDeleteWow. And people say God doesn't have a sense of humor...
ReplyDeleteIn some of the stories, it wasn't a rock that was dropped on his head, but a tortoise instead.
ReplyDeletePlease, Lord, do not let my obituary say he was killed by a tortoise.
