I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

Largest Number
What's the largest number you can make with just two digits?
I would say the alrgest is 9E9...that's two digits (plus one letter) and is 9 billion.
Along the same lines, smallest would be 1E-9...one billionth. (Unless you want to include negative numbers, in which case it would be -9E-9, negative nine billion)
I was avoiding letters, so I came up with 9^9 = 387,420,489. You can go negative for the smallest number (I was thinking closest to zero, rather than negative).

ReplyDeleteIn that case, you could just use 9T (T for terra)

ReplyDeleteBut your answers make sense to me.
