I'm posting one puzzle, riddle, math, or statistical problem a day. Try to answer each one and post your answers in the comments section. I'll post the answer the next day. Even if you have the same answer as someone else, feel free to put up your answer, too!

Who Keeps Losing All of These Numbers Anyways?
What numbers are missing in the parentheses?
98 (33) 79
23 (...) 55

Hmmm, I'm guessing the first one would be
ReplyDelete23 (15) 55
Because:
9 + 8 + 7 + 9 = 33
98 (33) 79
Oops, forgot to include something else.
ReplyDelete2 + 3 + 5 + 5 = 15
23 (15) 55
The first one is 15, when you add all the singles together, as GandalfGecko points out.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is 11. Multiply the numbers outside the parentheses and divide by six.
The third one is 7. Subtract the numbers outside the parentheses and divide the difference by 5.
