If you look at a clock and the time is 3:15, what is the angle between the hour and the minute hands?

7.5 degrees... or pi/28 (radians)
ReplyDeletewouldn't it be zero?
ReplyDeletezero
ReplyDelete7.5 deg
ReplyDeleteNow don't tell me it is an electronic clock.
Mike, which is it?
ReplyDeleteAs 3:15 rolls around, the small hand (assuming you aren't using an electronic clock!) has moved off of the 3 and should be a quarter of the way to 4.
ReplyDeleteSo the answer is not zero, although that was my first answer to this question when I saw it. I don't know if that makes you feel any better? ;-)
The answer is 7.5 degrees.
